World Circuit Records are an independent label, and have been instrumental in transforming world music into an important and acclaimed artform. The label has recorded with artists from West Africa including the legendary Malian bluesman Ali Farka Toure, but they are best known for the award-winning and best-selling Buena Vista Social Club album, which led to the phenomenal rise in the popularity of Cuban music.
